After a long, dark winter, Midsummer’s Eve arrives in Sweden on Friday the 22nd June. The longest day of the year is widely celebrated and many people head to the islands and hills to frolic in the sunlight. Festivities involve hopping around the maypole, eating pickled herring, drinking schnapps and adorning oneself with flowers. Not to be missed!
